Memorial Day Weekend - 3 days off of work, and I couldn't enjoy them less. A bad time of year for my family. Those who know me personally know what this is about. 'Nuff said.

On a happier topic, was able to play some Halo2 online with Gag & Jimmythebuddha last night. I'm still not very good, but some of the things that happen on there are just comical. Sticking a plasma grenade to someone's head never gets old. :)

Going shopping for a riding lawn mower pretty soon. Don't want to break the bank, but do want it to last a while. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

A quick post while I'm thinking about this:

What I expected to read about "The Longest Yard" (a movie that didn't need to be remade):

And some fun with Darth Vader (thanks for the link GAG)

Another wakeup call this morning around 5:30 AM - this shit is getting old, very quickly. There is an interface that allows the lab equipment communicate with the computer system that keeps going offline. This has been going on for a long time, but our vendor can't seem to get this fixed. I'll be communicating my displeasure about getting these calls in the middle of the night to them when I get to work today. The fact we are on the brink of a 3 day weekend doesn't help the matter. It seems likely there will be problems.

In other news, lack of sleep makes me grumpy. Hopefully a shower will improve my mood. Wouldn't bet any money on it though.

Missed something the other night - apparently, all the hot women here in town attend a single church. When I subbed for that team the other night, the stands were practically filled with hotties that went to church with the guys on the team. Blonds, brunettes, redheads - thought it was my birthday. But they all had that dull, glazed "not till we're married" look. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with that - just hadn't ever seen a collection of babes like that around here before. Still, there's zero chance I'll be attending church anywhere. But I might sit outside to watch it be dismissed..... ;)
The Worst Movie Ever: Let's just get this out of the way - At one point, my answer would have been "A Night at the Roxbury". That was just horrible and I didn't think it could get any worse. That was replaced early this year by the worst thing ever committed to film, "Napoleon Dynamite". Just the thought of it makes me feel dumber for having sat through that entire flick. It was one of those situations where you have to keep watching because you keep thinking that there has to be some huge payoff at the end. The dialogue was moronic, and the "plot" was unclear from the word go. The only payoff was when I turned off that piece of dreck and promised never to submit myself to that torture ever again. I weep for the future when I hear people say this is the funniest movie ever made. Stupid comedy is good when there is irony and intelligence behind it. ND is just stupid.

To sum up, on a scale of 1 to 10 - this one was a -12 with a bullet, with an additional plea from the reviewer to give me a lobotomy to strike it from memory. Now I have to go shower like the guy in "The Crying Game"- I feel dirty all of a sudden.
Felt much better as the day went along, not ready for the glue factory (yet). Had a game tonight for my regular softball team. We won, and I didn't play like total junk! Once again the other team wasn't very good, but a win is a win in my book.

Would be asleep right now, but received a call from work - an interface in the lab for some equipment was offline. It's working now, but I'm going to keep an eye on it for a bit as it is doing day-end processing and may conk out again. Looks like it will be okay, though.

Still working on what the permanent format of this site will be. Will probably try to do one to two movie reviews a week, as well as give updates on what is going on here in my neck of the woods. Haven't published the site publically yet, because it just doesn't feel like there's anything all that interesting. Even when I think it's interesting, it may not be to anyone else....

Update from last night: woke up this morning and can barely move. I may be getting old.

Busy day at work, but got some wheels in motion for some upcoming projects. Got a call after hours, but was able to get things fixed without going in, all the while trying to mow the lawn. In the midst of doing that, received another phone call - turns out a friend's son needed another softball player. It seemed like more fun than mowing, so I was in. Didn't play very well, but it didn't matter. The other team was horrible. To be fair, they were playing one player short, but it wouldn't have made much of a difference. Most of their guys couldn't hit.

First post. Nothing to report, just seeing what this will look like when I'm done.
